Chinese New Year 2016 Celebration


Gong Xi Gong Xi! As everyone prepared to usher in the Year of the Fire Monkey, Ipoh Parade decked out completely in red with its Prosperity Garden theme to welcome another auspicious year during the Chinese New Year celebration this year.

From 22nd January till 7 February 2016, Ipoh Parade went all out with the celebrations, rewarding shoppers with a slew of electrifying performances, entertaining activities, and exciting promotions! 

Shoppers had a chance to get up close and personal to an array of cheeky monkey characters as part of Ipoh Parade’s Chinese New Year decorations this year. The Prosperity Garden featured the Prosperity Monkey, Longevity Monkey, Harmony Monkey, and Happy Monkey, each of which is believed to bring in good luck, good health, wealth, prosperity, and a joyful year ahead for all.


Some of the exciting performances for shoppers during the festive season was the Shaolin Kung Fu Performance, China Acrobatic Show, Southern & Northern Acrobatic Lion & Dragon Dance, 24 Seasons Drum, and Rhythmic Latin Dance.

Additionally, Ipoh Parade welcomed a Chinese New Year Street Fair into the mall with vendors selling a wide variety of goodies, gift hampers, festive delicacies, and clothes on the Ground Floor.

Meanwhile its grand opening during end January, Jaya Grocer also offered bountiful Chinese New Year promotions on selected items such as Mandarin oranges, gift hampers, cookies, and Banana Leaf Nian Gao for shoppers to enjoy.
