Ipoh Parade gets in the holiday spirit in hopes of inspiring others to “Pay It Forward”. To Ipoh Parade, Christmas is more to giving than getting. Therefore,  “ Grant A Wish 2014” aims to put a smile on the children that are living in the orphanage so that they will have a memorable Christmas.  Heartstrings were tugged as the faces of the children were lit up with genuine smiles during the unwrapping session.

Bank Rakyat Road Show
(12 - 14 December 2014)

Bank Rakyat celebrated their anniversary with a road show. Shoppers were given a chance to go up close with My Fm DJs and local artists including Jack Lim (林德荣), Joe Chang Yew Joe (曾耀祖), Emily Poon Pek Ling, Catherine Ang, TJ (东于哲) and also Alvin Chong (鍾瑾樺). Exciting interactive games attracted participation from shoppers to join in the fun. Shoppers did not leave empty handed, as there were attractive prizes to be won from MyFm.

The Cage Movie Road Show

Helmed by two talented young directors, Felix Tan and Kethsvin Chee,‘The Cage’ is Malaysia’s first reality film. The Cage was released in October 2014. A theatre production never before seen nor attempted took place in full view of an entire nation. But unbeknownst to all viewing, the directors incorporated the show’s reality TV’s market positioning with a twist of documentary to satisfy viewers’ demands. ‘The Cage’ chose Ipoh Parade as the venue to promote the movie.

Astro TVB Kick Off Event
(25 October 2014)

Hong Kong artists including Linda Chung and Kristal Tin made an appearance at Ipoh Parade to promote the TVB Star Awards Malaysia. Massive crowds gathered at the centre court to have the chance to go up close with their star-studded Hong Kong idols. Both Linda Chung and Kristal Tin were among some of the nominees in the My Favourite TVB Actress in the Leading Role Category.

Merdeka Colouring Contest

Children are blank canvases—they absorb and mirror the colours we choose to embellish them with, and they become increasingly resistant to change once the colours have set. On Monday 1 September 2014, hundreds of children gathered at Ipoh Parade’s Ground Floor Atrium with colouring equipment at hand, eager to tint, paint, and shade a vivid picture of Malaysia during the annual Merdeka Colouring Contest. Like its predecessors, the contest was divided into three age categories: 4 – 6, 7 – 9, and 10 – 12, all of which took place successively through the day. Like the number of different colours available to the artist on a palette, our children are united by their differences and Ipoh Parade is happy to encourage them to utilise these differences to paint a masterpiece that is Malaysia.
