Ipoh, 29 Aug – The spirit of unity and creativity shone brightly as 502 children from nearby schools and communities came together to participate in the highly successful Merdeka Colouring Contest, held at Ipoh Parade, over the weekend. Co-organised with the World of Colours Centre, an art school in Ipoh,  the event celebrated Malaysia’s independence month with a burst of vibrant colors and youthful exuberance.

“The contest not only captured the essence of Merdeka but also provided a platform for young artists to express their patriotic spirit through art,” said Ipoh Parade’s Manager for Advertising and Promotions department, Lim Huey Tyng. With an impressive total worth of prizes exceeding RM9,000, the event proved to be a delightful occasion for participants, aged 4 to 12, and their families.

“The Merdeka Colouring Contest symbolizes the harmonious diversity that defines our country, and we are honored to have played a part in nurturing this spirit among the youth,” Huey Tyng added. “This is the second year after the hiatus caused by the pandemic and we received overwhelming response this year.”
