Established in 2014, MyeongDong Topokki’s concept originated from the Korean subway station in MyeongDong, famous for selling topokki & street food.
MyeongDong Topokki brings together various mouth-watering Korean street food and Korean delicacies under one roof. We insist on using only original ingredients to prepare our food and house specialty topokki, which enables us to be the pioneer of Korean street food in town.
Topokki was originally a royal dish that was served to the king during the celebration that commemorates the first month of the year during the Joseon dynasty. After the Korean War in the 1950s, topokki was introduced to the masses. This chewy rice cake drenched with red spicy gravy was a popular school lunch for students back then. It brings back feelings of nostalgia and has become a popular street food for many Koreans, and now, Malaysians.
